Early life and career

Arnold was born in New York City on March 15, 1919. He began his career in comics in the early 1940s, working for a variety of publishers, including Timely Comics and Fawcett Comics. In 1946, he joined Harvey Comics, where he would remain for the rest of his career.

Harvey Comics

Arnold's first major success at Harvey Comics was the creation of Richie Rich in 1953. Richie Rich was a wealthy young boy who lived in a giant mansion with his parents and butler. The character was an instant hit, and Arnold went on to create a number of other successful titles for Harvey, including Casper the Friendly Ghost (1952),Wendy the Witch (1953),and Hot Stuff the Little Devil (1957).

Arnold's work on Harvey Comics was characterized by his幽默感 and his ability to create memorable characters. His characters were often funny and quirky, and they appealed to readers of all ages. Arnold's work also helped to define the style of Harvey Comics, which was known for its bright colors and exaggerated characters.

Later career

Arnold continued to work for Harvey Comics until the company closed its doors in 1982. After Harvey Comics closed, Arnold worked for a variety of other publishers, including DC Comics and Marvel Comics. He also wrote and illustrated a number of children's books.

Arnold died on December 12, 2008, at the age of 89. He is survived by his wife, two children, and four grandchildren.
