An Exploration of Yemen's Ancient History, Culture, and Geography

By Carsten Niebuhr

In 1761, a Danish expedition set out for Arabia Felix, the fabled land of frankincense and myrrh. The expedition's goal was to explore the region's ancient history, culture, and geography. The expedition was led by Carsten Niebuhr, a German mathematician and astronomer. Niebuhr was joined by a team of scholars, including a philologist, a naturalist, and a doctor.

The expedition spent six years in Arabia Felix, and their work resulted in a number of important publications, including the first accurate map of the region. The expedition also brought back a wealth of information about the region's people, culture, and history.

This book is an account of the Danish expedition to Arabia Felix. It is based on the journals and letters of the expedition members. The book provides a fascinating glimpse into a lost world and a forgotten civilization.
